SlackAutomation & Integration
Route alerts, approvals, and operational workflows directly into Slack.
I connect Slack channels, messages, interactive actions, and supported events to alerts, approvals, escalations, summaries, and business-system updates within the scopes and channel access granted to the app.

How I use Slack
Slack apps can post structured messages, receive subscribed events, and handle interactive actions when the installation has the required bot or user scopes. I use those capabilities for alerts, approval steps, scheduled summaries, and exception workflows tied to business systems. Channel membership, workspace policy, token type, per-method rate limits, and the Events API acknowledgement window determine what the integration can read and do.

What the integration supports

Authentication and access
Slack apps use OAuth 2.0 to obtain bot or user access tokens with granular scopes. Web API requests send the token as a Bearer value in the Authorization header.
Useful data and actions
- Channels, conversations, messages, threads, reactions, and files allowed by scopes
- Users, user groups, workspace metadata, and app installation context
- Interactive actions, shortcuts, slash commands, and approval responses
- Events API payloads for subscribed workspace and conversation events
Constraints to confirm
- The app can access only data allowed by its granted OAuth scopes, token type, workspace policies, and channel membership.
- Web API limits are per method and workspace; HTTP 429 includes Retry-After. Slack recommends designing around roughly one request per second per method for bursts.
- Events API delivery is capped at 30,000 events per workspace per app per 60 minutes, and event endpoints must acknowledge within three seconds.
