Membership.ioAutomation & Integration
Connect Membership.io onboarding, Hub access, contacts, and engagement events to scoped workflows.
Membership.io organizes private content, contacts, members, and Hubs. On eligible plans, I connect its API and webhook events to onboarding, access, engagement, support, and reporting workflows.

How I use Membership.io
Membership.io lists direct API access and webhooks on its Scale plan. I use authorized contact, segment, Hub, member, folder, file, and activity data for scoped workflows, and plan token rotation because creating a new token revokes the previous one. Billing remains authoritative for renewals, cancellations, and failed payments; a Membership.io Hub-removal event alone does not establish subscription status.

What the integration supports
Facts checked
Authentication and access
Generate a Membership.io bearer token using the official authentication flow, keep it server-side, and send it with API requests. Configure outbound webhooks separately with an HTTPS endpoint for event-driven workflows.
Useful data and actions
- Contacts, contact segments, tags, and custom member attributes
- Hubs, Hub membership and access, onboarding state, folders, and library files
- Webhook events for supported contact, segment, Hub, folder, file, and activity changes
Constraints to confirm
- Membership.io lists API access and webhooks on its Scale plan; confirm current plan entitlements before designing a direct integration.
- Generating a new access token revokes the previous token, so rotation must update every dependent workflow atomically.
- A Hub member removal event means the contact was detached from the Hub, not necessarily that a subscription was cancelled; billing state should come from the payment source.
What I automate with Membership.io
New member onboarding after a verified event from the billing or registration source
Hub access updates based on firm-defined entitlement rules
Renewal and failed-payment workflows driven by the connected billing platform
Engagement reporting from supported member and activity records
Support routing for Hub access or onboarding exceptions
