Kareo / TebraAutomation & Integration
Connect Tebra Practice Management data through its permissioned SOAP API.
Tebra Practice Management, historically associated with Kareo, exposes approved patient, appointment, provider, encounter, charge, transaction, and payment operations through SOAP.

How I use Kareo / Tebra
Tebra's documented Practice Management API uses SOAP/XML rather than a general Tebra-wide REST interface. A system administrator must request CustomerKey access and authorize a Tebra user with the permissions each operation requires. The API supports patients, appointments, providers, locations, charges, encounters, transactions, payments, and procedure codes. Filters and endpoint-specific rate limits shape how frequently data can be queried or updated.

What the integration supports

Authentication and access
Tebra's SOAP API requires each request header to include the account CustomerKey and an authorized Tebra user's login and password. A system administrator must request and enable customer-key access.
Useful data and actions
- Appointments
- Patients
- Providers and service locations
- Charges, encounters, and transactions
- Payments and procedure codes
Constraints to confirm
- Customer-key access requires Customer Care enablement, and the API user needs the account role and permissions required by each operation.
- This is a SOAP/XML/WSDL integration rather than REST; XML special characters in credentials and values must be escaped.
- Get operations require filters, including paired date filters where documented; precise fields and off-hours polling are recommended.
- Rate limits vary by endpoint and account, from multiple calls per second to one call every five seconds, with 429 responses when exceeded.
