DialpadAutomation & Integration

Turn Dialpad calls, messages, and AI summaries into structured operational workflows.

I connect Dialpad call and messaging events to CRM updates, follow-up tasks, quality workflows, and reporting. Transcripts, summaries, outcomes, and action items are used only when the relevant Dialpad AI features are enabled and authorized.

How I use Dialpad

Dialpad call events can provide lifecycle, participant, timing, transfer, recording, and disposition data, depending on the event and account configuration. I use available fields to create notes, tasks, routing, escalation, and reporting workflows. Dialpad AI transcripts and recap fields are conditional features, so the workflow must handle missing fields and process conversation content according to the client's access, notice, retention, and compliance requirements.

What the integration supports

Facts checked

Authentication and access

Internal integrations can use a company-admin-generated API key; multi-company applications should use OAuth. Dialpad recommends sending either token as a Bearer value in the Authorization header.

Useful data and actions

  • Call IDs, participants, direction, state transitions, timing, and transfer relationships
  • Recording metadata, voicemail transcriptions, and call disposition fields when enabled
  • Dialpad AI transcripts, recaps, outcomes, purposes, and action items when the account has those features
  • SMS and channel events, sender targets, and message direction

Constraints to confirm

  • Only company administrators can create internal API keys, and access remains limited by the token, target, and account configuration.
  • AI transcripts and recap fields are present only when Dialpad AI and the relevant feature are enabled for the call and company.
  • Limits are endpoint-specific: for example, SMS send is 100/minute at Tier 0 and 800/minute at Tier 1, while call initiation is 5/minute.
