BigCommerceAutomation & Integration
Extend BigCommerce with automation for customer, order, and back-office operations.
BigCommerce provides scoped APIs and webhooks for store operations. I connect authorized catalog, customer, cart, order, shipment, transaction, and settings data to external workflows.

How I use BigCommerce
BigCommerce uses different store-, app-, and account-level API accounts, and each API family has its own compatible credentials and scopes. I choose the account type first, then use authorized REST or GraphQL data and supported webhooks for catalog, order, fulfillment, customer, and reporting workflows. B2B, customer impersonation, payments, and other specialized APIs are scoped separately when the store is eligible.

What the integration supports
Facts checked
Authentication and access
For one store, create a store-level OAuth API account with minimum scopes and send its access token in X-Auth-Token. For a reusable app, implement BigCommerce's grant-code OAuth flow and retain the store context returned for each installation.
Useful data and actions
- Catalog products, variants, categories, brands, pricing, and inventory available to the account's scopes
- Customers, carts, orders, shipments, transactions, and store settings exposed by the selected REST or GraphQL APIs
- Webhook events for supported order, product, inventory, cart, customer, and shipment changes
Constraints to confirm
- BigCommerce has store-, app-, and account-level API accounts; endpoint compatibility and authentication differ, so choose the account type before implementation.
- REST endpoint families span v2 and v3, and access tokens do not expire on a timer; secure storage and explicit credential rotation procedures are required.
- B2B, storefront customer impersonation, payments, and other specialized APIs require their own account types, scopes, tokens, or product availability.
